The third track on
AND has been described as "Electro Black Flag" for infusing a punk-ish electronic track with cut-up lyrics.
It was a Disquiet Junto exercise using William S. Burroughs as inspiration.
The lyrics came from a front page story in my local paper
The Irrigator and, using a formula
promoted by the Junto, arranged the text into a new shape. Using these words, I experimented with different backing tracks until the result seemed appropriate.
While it was recorded very quickly, the result has generated many positive comments. I've been thinking I should try an album of songs using this approach.
